Celia Delaney (Director), based in Exeter, Devon
Founder of the company, Celia is the main point of contact for clients, still delivers some of the training and coaching, and is passionate about the high standards of customer service that Delaney & Hart has built its reputation upon. Celia has been working in the learning & development arena for over twelve years. Her particular skills are in the areas of Speaking to Promote your Business, Influencing and Personal Impact. She has an MA in Psychology from Oxford University and continues to read widely in order to utilise research from the fields of applied psychology and learning & development.
Celia is a sought-after speaker and is able to speak on a variety of subjects, including 5 Steps to Delivering a More Persuasive Talk, Getting the most out of Networking, Creating the Wow Factor, Inspiring Others and more.
In her former business life, Celia was the Personnel Manager for one of Unilever’s factory sites, which included pay negotiations with unions and the development of junior managers through coaching.
After her business career, Celia trained at Mountview Theatre School in London and worked for several years as an actress on stage and television. Because of that background, she brings a personal insight into the use of body and voice in communication and is able to share her experience of creating stage presence and impact with people who wish to be better public speakers. During her acting career, she always maintained an interest in training, working as a corporate actor and subsequently becoming a facilitator. She started Delaney & Hart in 2007 and incorporated it 2009.
Anthony Chamberlain (Actor & Trainer), based in Plymouth, Devon
Like Celia, Anthony has blended a professional acting career and business experience to bring insight to individuals and organisations alike. With a background in senior management in education, Anthony has a wealth of experience as a facilitator. He currently also develops tenders for Delaney & Hart and is researching links with professional bodies to take Delaney & Hart towards being recognised at a national level.
His special skills are in Presentation Skills, Dealing with Difficult Conversations, Confidence & Assertiveness, and Customer Service.
Laura Newton (Actor & Trainer) based in Sidmouth, Devon
Laura Newton has a background in designing and facilitating training courses and arts projects within the business, voluntary and charity sectors. She specialises in communication skills training and working with people to build their self awareness and confidence with others. She studied at Exeter University before going on to complete her professional training as an Arts Therapist with the University of Plymouth. She has also held senior positions within local government and is very passionate about enabling people to reach their full potential.
Stephen Smith (Trainer & Coach), based in Banbury, Oxon
Steve has been working in the field of personal development and training for over 10 years, working predominantly with managers and team leaders at all levels, to improve their personal effectiveness and the effectiveness of their teams.
Before becoming self employed in 2004, Steve worked for the UK division of Zurich Financial Services, a worldwide financial services company. As Learning and Development Consultant, his major focus was on coaching and developing high talent and high potential individuals into their first management roles, as part of the organisation’s development and succession planning.
Steve has experience of delivering a wide range of programmes, covering all aspects of people management and leadership. He is particularly passionate about making sure clients get a return on their investment and see real behavioural change.
Steve delivers all aspects of the training process for Delaney & Hart, from needs analysis through design, adaptation and delivery of material, to evaluation of the impact of training. As well as this, he has wide experience of coaching at all levels, and is MBTI accredited. A former Samaritan, Steve brings a genuine empathy and concern for the needs of the individual to all his work.
Sarah Hobson (Trainer, Consultant & Head Coach), based in Exeter, Devon
Sarah has spent her professional and personal life talking and listening to people and is passionate about supporting them in unlocking their potential. She has been coaching for 3 years, within the corporate world predominantly though more recently in education and the Third Sector. Her main area of expertise is leadership and communication but has also worked with many people in a wider sense, empowering them to achieve clarity in their career, health and well being, and work/life balance. Previous clients include Marks & Spencers, Pepsico, Sainsburys, Mckinsey, Tesco, Mars, Within education she has worked with Group 8, Innovation Unit and various new business and third sector projects.
Sarah has 5 years corporate experience working for Merrill Lynch International as a team manager and then as a change management consultant. Following this Sarah spent 5 years as a professional musican and teacher. She takes seriously the investment in her own personal development, with more specific courses in time management, communication, presentation skills and project planning.
